Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds for seasoning
  • ½ tablespoon white sesame seeds toasted if possible (for seasoning)
  • ½ tablespoon black sesame seeds for seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced garlic for seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion for seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt adjust to taste
  • 1 8-ounce container refrigerated crescent rolls, 8 count (for wrapping hot dogs)
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard for brushing dough
  • 24 mini beef hot dogs or cocktail franks for filling
  • 1 large egg beaten, for egg wash
  • Optional Dipping Sauce:
  • ½ cup sour cream full-fat recommended
  • ½ cup mayonnaise full-fat recommended
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, combine poppy seeds, white and black sesame seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and flaky sea salt. Stir to combine and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and cut each triangle into three thin strips lengthwise to make 24 strips.
  4. Lightly brush each strip with Dijon mustard. Place a mini hot dog at the wide end of each strip and roll up, sealing seam underneath. assemble
  5. Whisk the egg until smooth and brush over the dough rolls. Sprinkle each roll with the prepared seasoning mixture.
  6. Arrange rolls on the prepared sheet pan and bake 10–14 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  7. Optional: For dipping sauce, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and whole-grain mustard in a bowl. Refrigerate until serving.
  8. Remove pigs in a blanket from oven and serve warm with dipping sauce if desired.
