Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp large, peeled and deveined, 16-20 count
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin for flavor
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic minced finely
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, crushed for heat
  • ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth for non-alcoholic version
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced, fresh
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and sprinkle lightly with salt on all sides.
  2. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat, then add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove to a plate immediately.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to brown.
  5. Stir in red pepper flakes, white wine, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to slightly reduce the sauce.
  6. Return the shrimp and any juices to the skillet, tossing gently for 1 minute until coated in sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with parsley, and serve immediately.
