  • 2 cups light brown sugar firmly packed
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract for flavor
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted for smooth texture
  • 1 teaspoon salt enhances sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder for lift
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda helps with chewiness
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips semisweet or milk, adjust for preference

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon until smooth.
  3. Gradually stir in sifted flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until the batter is well combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 24–28 minutes, or until the surface looks set and edges start to pull slightly away from the pan.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 15 squares.
