Ingredients
  

  • 10 dried butterfly pea flowers for brewing tea
  • ½ cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust for sweetness
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract optional, can substitute rose water
  • Ice cubes enough to fill ¾ of the serving glass

Method
 

  1. Place the dried butterfly pea flowers in a teapot and pour 1 cup of hot water over them.
  2. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes until it develops a deep purple-blue color.
  3. Fill a serving glass about ¾ full with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the simple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract over the ice in the glass.
  5. Slowly pour the brewed butterfly pea tea over the ice or use a spoon to layer gently on top, creating a beautiful separation.
  6. If desired, stir lightly to blend the milk and tea into a pastel blue color.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.
