Holiday Granola Gifts: Cranberry & White Chocolate Granola

Tis the season for homemade gifts. Pinterest is awash in caramels, sauces, etc. I went with an oldie but goodie – granola.

I have given granola out as the thank you gifts at my kids birthday parties since the first one, but never thought to do it as a holiday gift until this year.

I used my everyday granola recipe, which was one of the first posts I did, but modified it a bit to fit the season. This may be the only time a year I purchase white chocolate – well except for Easter, because a white chocolate bunny reminds me so much of my childhood.

Warning: package this up ASAP. It is extremely dangerous to have just hanging around. Super delicious.

I made labels and purchased the bags on this site – they have speedy delivery if you need it. Came in 5 days with regular shipping.

White Chocolate-Cranberry Granola
I always make a double batch of this. I simplified my everyday granola recipe for this version.
  • 4 cups regular oats
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup cranberries
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  1. Oven to 350 (I have to do 300 to 350).
  2. On the largest sheet pan you have, dump the oats directly onto the pan. Mix together maple syrup, canola and salt and pour over oats. Mix all together and into the oven.
  3. Bake 10 minutes, stir, and if you have two batches in there (as you should!) rotate the pans to the other rack.
  4. Bake another 10 minutes, take out, stir again and let cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add cranberries and white chocolate. All done!
